1 Day Until Election Day: Local Sign-Stealing Allegations, Heavy Snowfall Expected
Election Day Preparations
Tomorrow is Election Day, and voters in Montana are gearing up to head to the polls. Polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Voters are encouraged to check their voter registration status and find their polling place before Election Day.
Sign Stealing Allegations
In the final days leading up to the election, there have been several allegations of sign stealing in Montana. Candidates from both parties have reported that their campaign signs have been stolen or vandalized. The Montana Secretary of State's office is investigating the allegations.
Sign stealing is a crime in Montana. Anyone convicted of stealing or vandalizing a campaign sign could face a fine of up to $1,000 and up to six months in jail.
Heavy Snowfall Expected
In addition to the election, Montana is also bracing for a major snowstorm. The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm warning for much of the state. Snowfall totals of up to 12 inches are possible in some areas.
The snowstorm is expected to begin late tonight and continue through Wednesday. Travel could be difficult during the storm, and motorists are advised to use caution.
