ATP Shanghai: Rublev routs Tsitsipas, to face Auger-Aliassime in final

Tsitsipas struggles with injury as Rublev powers into final

Andrey Rublev produced a stunning performance to reach the final of the ATP Shanghai Masters, defeating Stefanos Tsitsipas 6-1, 6-4 on Saturday. Tsitsipas, the world number seven, was hampered by a right shoulder injury and was unable to match the power and consistency of Rublev.

Rublev dominates from the start

Rublev broke Tsitsipas' serve in the opening game of the match and never looked back. The Russian hit 18 winners and committed just 10 unforced errors, while Tsitsipas struggled to find his rhythm and made 25 unforced errors.

Tsitsipas' injury proves costly

Tsitsipas took a medical timeout at the end of the first set, and it was clear that his shoulder was causing him discomfort. He was unable to serve at full power and his groundstrokes lacked their usual penetration. Rublev took full advantage, breaking Tsitsipas' serve twice more in the second set to seal the victory.

Rublev to face Auger-Aliassime in final

Rublev will now face Felix Auger-Aliassime in the final on Sunday. Auger-Aliassime defeated Alexander Bublik 6-3, 6-0 in the other semifinal. It will be the first meeting between Rublev and Auger-Aliassime.
