Cade Otton Makes History He Doesn’t Want
Tom Brady’s New Teammate Makes History But It’s Not What He Hoped For
Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ newest acquisition Cade Otton is not the first player to have a poor debut for the team. But he may have made history as the first to endure this unique embarrassment.
In his first game as a Buc, Otton was flagged for holding in the end zone and awarded a safety. This is not the first time a player has committed a penalty in the end zone. Nor is it the first time a player has committed a penalty that resulted in a safety. However, Otton is the first player to be called for holding in the end zone and give the opposing team a safety since 2004.
Otton, who was acquired from the Indianapolis Colts in March, was brought in to help the Buccaneers improve their tight end position. He was expected to make an immediate impact, but his debut was far from what he or the team had hoped for.
The Buccaneers went on to lose the game 19-3 to the Dallas Cowboys. It was their first loss of the season and dropped them to 2-1.
Otton’s penalty was a costly one, but it’s not the only reason the Buccaneers lost. The team struggled on offense all day, and the defense was unable to get enough stops.
Despite the loss, the Buccaneers are still in a good position. They are still one of the favorites to win the NFC South, and they have a lot of talent on their roster.
Otton’s penalty was a setback, but it’s not the end of the world. He’s a talented player, and he’ll have plenty of opportunities to make an impact for the Buccaneers.
