Cal women’s basketball coach Charmin Smith entering sixth season

The 2024 Cal Women's Basketball season will be the 52nd season for the program and the sixth season under head coach Charmin Smith.

Smith had a 95-64 record in her first five seasons at Cal, including a 17-12 record in the 2023-24 season.

The Golden Bears return two starters from last season's team, including leading scorer Jayda Curry and rebounding leader Evelien Lutje Schipholt.

Smith brings in talented recruiting class

Smith also brought in a talented recruiting class, led by five-star recruit Charmin Smith 2.0. Smith 2.0 is the daughter of Cal head coach Charmin Smith.

Other top recruits in the class include four-star recruits Makayla Daniels and Kamryn Edwards.

The Golden Bears are expected to compete for a Pac-12 title in 2023-24.

Schedule

The Golden Bears' 2023-24 schedule includes non-conference games against Stanford, Oregon, and Gonzaga.

Cal will also play 18 Pac-12 games, including home and away games against Arizona, UCLA and USC.

The Golden Bears will open the season on November 7th at home against UC Davis.
