Dallas Mavericks' Kristaps Porzingis Out Indefinitely with Foot Injury
Pacers' TJ Warren Ruled Out for Season
The Dallas Mavericks have announced that Kristaps Porzingis will be out indefinitely after suffering a foot injury in Tuesday's loss to the Indiana Pacers.
Porzingis, who is averaging 19.5 points and 7.7 rebounds per game this season, left the game in the second quarter after stepping on Pacers' forward TJ Warren's foot.
An MRI later revealed a torn plantar fascia in Porzingis' right foot. He will undergo further evaluation to determine the severity of the injury and a timeline for his return.
Warren's Season Ends Early
In a separate injury update, the Pacers announced that Warren will miss the rest of the season after suffering a stress fracture in his left foot.
Warren, who was averaging 15.5 points per game this season, has been dealing with foot pain for several weeks.
He underwent an MRI on Wednesday which confirmed the stress fracture. Warren will undergo surgery to repair the injury and is expected to make a full recovery.
Impact on Both Teams
The injuries to Porzingis and Warren are significant blows to both the Mavericks and Pacers.
Porzingis is one of the Mavericks' top scorers and rebounders, while Warren is a key contributor for the Pacers.
The Mavericks will likely start Maxi Kleber in place of Porzingis, while the Pacers will look to Justin Holiday to fill Warren's role.
Both teams will hope to get their injured players back as soon as possible, but for now, they will have to adjust to life without them.
