NBA Career

Mutombo was selected by the Denver Nuggets with the fourth overall pick in the 1991 NBA draft. He spent five seasons with the Nuggets before being traded to the Atlanta Hawks in 1996. Mutombo played for the Hawks for two seasons before being traded to the Philadelphia 76ers in 1998. He spent eight seasons with the 76ers and was named an NBA All-Star eight times.
