Election Day is Tuesday: Everything you need to know for North Carolina
Where to vote
You can find your polling place on the NCSBE website.
Polls will be open from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Election Day.
You can also vote early in person at any early voting site in your county. Early voting ends on Saturday, November 5th.
What to bring
You will need to bring a photo ID to vote in North Carolina.
Acceptable forms of ID include:
- N.C. driver's license
- N.C. identification card
- U.S. passport
- Military ID
- Student ID from a N.C. college or university
If you do not have a photo ID, you can still vote if you sign an affidavit and provide documentation of your identity, such as a utility bill or bank statement.
Who is on the ballot
The following races are on the ballot in North Carolina in 2022:
- U.S. Senate
- U.S. House of Representatives
- Governor
- Lieutenant Governor
- Attorney General
- Commissioner of Insurance
- Commissioner of Labor
- Superintendent of Public Instruction
- State Auditor
- State Treasurer
- Council of State
- Judicial races

How to vote
When you arrive at your polling place, you will need to check in with a poll worker.
You will then be given a ballot.
You can vote for candidates by filling in the oval next to their name.
Once you have voted, you will need to return your ballot to a poll worker.
What to do if you have problems voting
If you have any problems voting, you can ask for assistance from a poll worker.
