Filling out the lineup: UNLV basketball roster projection 4.0
Breaking down the Runnin' Rebels' potential roster for the 2023-24 season
Frontcourt (5 players)
The frontcourt is where the Runnin' Rebels have the most experience and depth.
Keshon Gilbert, a 6-foot-8 forward, is the team's leading returning scorer and rebounder. He averaged 11.8 points and 7.2 rebounds per game last season.
Joining Gilbert in the frontcourt are Royce Hamm Jr., a 6-foot-9 forward who averaged 9.3 points and 5.8 rebounds per game last season, and Donovan Williams, a 6-foot-11 center who averaged 4.0 points and 3.2 rebounds per game last season.
Backcourt (3 players)
The backcourt is where the Runnin' Rebels have the most question marks.
Justin Webster, a 6-foot-4 guard, is the team's only returning starter in the backcourt. He averaged 9.0 points and 3.5 assists per game last season.
Joining Webster in the backcourt are Elijah Harkless, a 6-foot-3 guard who averaged 7.0 points per game last season, and David Jenkins Jr., a 6-foot-5 guard who transferred from Utah.
Keys to the season
The Runnin' Rebels have a lot of potential, but they also have a lot of question marks.
The key to the season will be how well the team can gel together and how well the new players can adjust to the system.
If the Runnin' Rebels can do that, they have the potential to be a contender in the Mountain West Conference.
