Golden Eagles Look to Build Momentum Heading Into Season Opener
The Marquette Golden Eagles men's basketball team will travel to Syracuse, New York, on Sunday, October 30, to take on the Syracuse Orange in a preseason exhibition game. The game will be played at the Carrier Dome and will tip off at 1 pm CT.
Syracuse a Tough Test for Golden Eagles
The Orange are coming off a 16-17 season in which they finished 9-11 in the ACC. Syracuse is led by junior guard Buddy Boeheim, who averaged 17.8 points per game last season. The Orange also have a talented frontcourt led by senior forward Marek Dolezaj and junior center Jesse Edwards.
Marquette Looking to Build Momentum
The Golden Eagles are coming off a 13-14 season in which they finished 8-10 in the Big East. Marquette is led by senior guard Darryl Morsell, who averaged 13.1 points per game last season. The Golden Eagles also have a talented frontcourt led by senior forward Olivier-Maxence Prosper and junior center Kur Kuath.
Exhibition Game Important for Both Teams
The exhibition game will be an important tune-up for both teams as they prepare for the regular season. The Golden Eagles will open their season on November 9 against the Purdue Fort Wayne Mastodons. The Orange will open their season on November 9 against the Lehigh Mountain Hawks.
