Premise
This document provides guidance for Search Quality Evaluators on how to assess the helpfulness of a page’s main content. This document applies to websites on all devices, including mobile and desktop.
The purpose of search is to help users complete their tasks and fulfill their information needs. Assess the extent to which the page’s main content accomplishes this purpose.
Note that the expectations and assessment standards described in this document are for evaluating single pages. SERP snippets or landing pages that consist of several different pages should be evaluated separately.
Key questions to keep in mind when evaluating the page’s main content:
- Is the information provided comprehensive enough to satisfy the user’s query?
- Does the content contain information that would be helpful to someone seeking to learn more about this topic?
- Is the content free of factual errors?
