Iowa State shoots well, holds Central to poor shooting night
AMES, Iowa - The Iowa State women's basketball team rolled to an easy 88-54 win over Central College in an exhibition game on Sunday at Hilton Coliseum.
The Cyclones, who are ranked No. 12 in the preseason AP Top 25 poll, shot 53.5% from the field and held Central to 31.4% shooting.
Iowa State was led by Ashley Joens, who had 18 points, 11 rebounds and four assists. Lexi Donarski added 17 points, and Emily Ryan scored 11.
Central was led by Kennedy Morgan, who had 13 points. No other Central player scored more than nine points.
The Cyclones took control of the game early, building a 20-6 lead after the first quarter.
Iowa State led by as many as 36 points in the second half.
Iowa State begins the regular season on Nov. 7 at home against Alcorn State.
