Juventus’s Thuram: ‘I celebrated like Pogba, my favourite player, I did it for him
Marco Thuram and Paul Pogba have been friends since their days together at Juventus and the Italian took his inspiration from his compatriot for his celebration against AC Milan.
Thuram scored the winning goal in the 2-1 victory over Milan on Saturday and he celebrated by imitating Pogba’s signature dab.
“I celebrated like Paul because he is my favourite player,” Thuram said. “I did it for him.
“He is a great player and a great friend. I am very happy for him and I wish him all the best in his recovery.”
Pogba has been out of action since September with a knee injury but he is expected to return to action in the coming weeks.
Thuram has been in excellent form for Juventus this season, scoring seven goals in 21 appearances.
The 25-year-old has been linked with a move to the Premier League in recent months, but he is happy to stay at Juventus for the time being.
“I am very happy at Juventus,” Thuram said. “I have a great relationship with the coach and the players.
“I am learning a lot and I am improving every day. I want to stay here for as long as possible.”
