Knicks' backup point guard doubtful for Monday's matchup with Rockets
Backup point guard Immanuel Quickley is doubtful to play Monday against the Rockets due to a right ankle sprain.
Quickley suffered the injury in the fourth quarter of Saturday's win over the Warriors. He finished the game but was limping noticeably afterward. An MRI on Sunday confirmed the sprain, and the Knicks ruled him out for Monday's game.
The Knicks are already without starting point guard Jalen Brunson, who is out with a foot injury. Quickley has started in Brunson's place and has played well, averaging 14.8 points and 5.8 assists per game.
With Quickley out, the Knicks will likely start Miles McBride at point guard. McBride has started 10 games this season and has averaged 6.7 points and 3.4 assists.
The Knicks will also be without Obi Toppin (calf) and Mitchell Robinson (thumb) on Monday. Toppin is expected to miss several weeks, while Robinson is day-to-day.
