Knicks' backup point guard 'nicked up' with new injury
Immanuel Quickley ruled out 10-14 days with calf strain
New York Knicks backup point guard Immanuel Quickley suffered a calf strain and will be out 10-14 days, the team announced Monday.
Quickley was injured in the Knicks' 112-108 loss to the Indiana Pacers on Sunday. He played 27 minutes and finished with 11 points and six assists.
The Knicks are already without starting point guard Jalen Brunson, who is out with a foot injury. Brunson is expected to miss at least two more weeks.
With Quickley and Brunson out, the Knicks will likely start Derrick Rose at point guard. Rose has started 13 games this season and is averaging 12.2 points and 4.9 assists.
The Knicks are 26-26 this season and are currently in seventh place in the Eastern Conference. They will play their next game on Wednesday against the New Orleans Pelicans.
