The Manitoba Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) are warning the public after a suspicious incident involving a teenage girl in Winnipeg.

On Tuesday, September 20, 2022, at approximately 4:30 p.m., a 14-year-old girl was walking alone in the area of Sturgeon Road and Lagimodiere Boulevard when she was approached by an unknown man.

The suspect approached the girl and asked her for her name. The girl did not respond and continued walking. The suspect then followed the girl for a short distance before turning away.

The girl was not physically injured during the incident, but she was shaken by the experience. She reported the incident to the RCMP, who are now investigating.

The RCMP are reminding the public to be aware of their surroundings and to report any suspicious activity to the police. The RCMP are also asking parents to talk to their children about personal safety and to encourage them to report any suspicious incidents to an adult.
