Mark Pope's Team Set to Play Kentucky Wildcats
Pope Returns to Kentucky
In Lexington at Rupp Arena, Mark Pope will make his Kentucky return! Mark Pope played for the Kentucky Wildcats mens' basketball team from 1992 to 1996. He was a two-time All-SEC selection and helped lead the Wildcats to the 1996 NCAA Championship. After his playing career, Pope went on to coach at BYU, Utah Valley, and now Texas Tech. He has been very successful as a coach, leading all three of his teams to the NCAA Tournament.
Pope's Texas Tech team will face the Kentucky Wildcats on December 17th, 2022. The game will be a homecoming for Pope, and it will be a great opportunity for him to show his former team how far he has come as a coach.
Kentucky Facing Tough Opponent
The Kentucky Wildcats are coming off a disappointing season in which they finished 9-16. However, they have a lot of talent on their roster, and they are expected to be much better this year.
