Trojans Set to Host Bruins in Exhibition Matchup

Los Angeles, Calif. - The USC men's basketball team will open its 2022-23 season with an exhibition matchup against crosstown rival UCLA on Monday, August 10. The game will be played at the Galen Center at 7:30 p.m. PT. The Trojans are coming off a 26-8 season in which they won the Pac-12 regular season championship and advanced to the Elite Eight of the NCAA Tournament. USC returns three starters from that team, including All-American candidate Drew Peterson. UCLA is also coming off a strong season, finishing 27-8 and advancing to the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Tournament. The Bruins return four starters from that team, including All-American candidate Jaime Jaquez Jr. The Trojans and Bruins have met 299 times, with UCLA holding a 152-147 advantage in the series. The two teams have met twice in exhibition games, with USC winning both meetings. Monday's game will be a good early test for both teams.
