Michigan State defeats Ferris State in final exhibition game
Bulldogs are the second exhibition win for the Spartans this season
EAST LANSING, Mich. - The Michigan State men's basketball team defeated Ferris State 82-62 in its final exhibition game of the season Tuesday night at the Breslin Center.
The Spartans were led by junior guard Tyson Walker, who scored 18 points and dished out six assists. Senior forward Joey Hauser added 13 points and 10 rebounds, while sophomore guard AJ Hoggard chipped in 12 points and six assists.
The Bulldogs were led by senior guard Noah Gurganus, who scored 16 points. Junior forward Caleb Holbrook added 13 points and 10 rebounds.
The Spartans led by just five points at halftime but pulled away in the second half, shooting 50 percent from the field and making 9 of 19 three-pointers. The Bulldogs shot just 38 percent from the field and made 6 of 25 three-pointers.
The Spartans will open the regular season on Monday, Nov. 7, when they host Northern Arizona at the Breslin Center. The Bulldogs will open the regular season on Friday, Nov. 11, when they host Davenport at Jim Wink Arena.
