Grainger to unveil new store on Hillsborough Road
Store is named in honor of Christian Laettner, '92 Duke grad
Durham, N.C. – National hardware retailer Grainger announced today that it will open its newest store in Durham, N.C., on Hillsborough Road. The store will be named in honor of Christian Laettner, a Duke basketball legend.
Laettner, a 6-foot-11 forward, played for Duke from 1989 to 1992. He was a two-time NCAA champion (1991, 1992) and was named the NCAA Tournament's Most Outstanding Player in 1992. Laettner was also a two-time All-American and was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 2010.
The new Grainger store will be located at 2525 Hillsborough Road in Durham. The store will be 25,000 square feet and will offer a wide variety of hardware and home improvement products. The store will also feature a state-of-the-art training center where customers can learn about new products and techniques.
"We are excited to open our new store in Durham," said Grainger CEO DG Macpherson. "We are proud to name the store after Christian Laettner, a Duke basketball legend. Laettner is a great role model for our employees and customers. He is a hard worker, a team player, and a winner."
The new Grainger store will be open seven days a week. The store will be staffed by a team of experienced hardware professionals.

The new Grainger store is expected to open in the fall of 2023.
