No. 3 USC Women’s Basketball Opens Season In Paris Against No. 20 Ole Miss
Trojans To Face Rebels In Basketball Hall Of Fame's Global Challenge
USC women's basketball team will open its 2022-23 season against No. 20 Ole Miss in Paris, France, on Nov. 10 as part of the Basketball Hall of Fame's Global Challenge.
The Trojans, who are ranked No. 3 in the preseason AP Poll, will be making their first trip to Paris since 2010. They will face the Rebels at the Accor Arena, which is the home of the Paris Basketball team.
Ole Miss is coming off a 23-10 season in which they advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament. The Rebels are led by senior guard Angel Baker, who was named to the All-SEC First Team last season.
The game will be a rematch of last season's NCAA Tournament first round game, which USC won 71-61. The Trojans are 2-0 all-time against Ole Miss.
In addition to the game against Ole Miss, USC will also play an exhibition game against the French club team Flammes Carolo Basket on Nov. 8.
The Trojans are led by a talented roster that includes four starters from last season's team. Senior guard Jordan Sanders, senior forward Alissa Pili, junior guard Desiree Caldwell, and sophomore center Rayah Marshall all return for USC.
USC is looking to make a deep run in the NCAA Tournament this season after reaching the Sweet 16 last year. The Trojans have not won an NCAA Championship since 1984.
