Ohio State men’s basketball player preview: Bruce Thornton
Freshman guard could crack rotation
Thornton, a 6-foot-4 guard came to Ohio State as a four-star recruit out of Cincinnati Moeller High School.
He was ranked as the No. 72 overall player and the No. 14 shooting guard in the 2022 class by 247Sports.
Thornton is a 6-foot-4, 190-pound guard who can play either guard position.
He is a good shooter with a smooth stroke and a solid passer.
He is also a good athlete who can get to the rim and finish.
Thornton was a key member of Moeller’s state championship team in 2022.
He averaged 16.5 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 3.5 assists per game as a senior.
Thornton is expected to compete for a spot in the rotation this season.
He has the talent to be a contributor, but he will need to adjust to the college game.
If he can do that, he could be a valuable piece for the Buckeyes.
