New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara is expected to miss the next four to six weeks with a knee injury, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Kamara suffered the injury in the Saints' preseason game against the Baltimore Ravens on Saturday night.

The injury is a major blow to the Saints' offense. Kamara is one of the most versatile and dynamic running backs in the NFL. He rushed for 813 yards and nine touchdowns last season, and also caught 81 passes for 533 yards and four touchdowns.

With Kamara out, the Saints will likely turn to Mark Ingram and Dwayne Washington to carry the load at running back. Ingram is a veteran running back who has rushed for over 1,000 yards in each of the past three seasons. Washington is a young running back who has shown flashes of potential.

The Saints are hoping that Kamara will be able to return to the lineup in time for the regular season opener against the Atlanta Falcons on September 11.
