Rwanda has confirmed an outbreak of the Marburg virus, a highly infectious and deadly disease. As of August 13, 2023, the outbreak has resulted in one confirmed case and one suspected case, with both individuals being healthcare workers. Symptoms and Transmission

Marburg virus disease (MVD) is caused by the Marburg virus, a filovirus related to the Ebola virus.
