Portland Drops Preseason Opener to Lakers

Grant Leads Balanced Scoring Effort

In their preseason opener, the Portland Trail Blazers fell to the Los Angeles Lakers 116-108 at the Moda Center. Jerami Grant led the Blazers with 17 points on 7-of-13 shooting, including 3-of-6 from three-point range.

The Blazers were without Damian Lillard, Anfernee Simons, and Jusuf Nurkic, who are all recovering from injuries. Despite their absences, the Blazers kept the game close throughout, trailing by just five points with less than three minutes remaining.

In addition to Grant, the Blazers got solid contributions from several other players. Shaedon Sharpe scored 15 points, Josh Hart added 14, and Nassir Little chipped in with 12. Drew Eubanks led the team with 10 rebounds.

The Lakers were led by Anthony Davis, who had a game-high 23 points. LeBron James added 19 points, and Russell Westbrook chipped in with 18.

The Blazers will be back in action on Monday when they host the Phoenix Suns in their second preseason game.
