Illinois basketball forward Ty Rodgers will miss the entire 2024-25 season due to a torn ACL in his left knee, the school announced on Monday. Rodgers suffered the injury during a summer workout.
The 6-foot-7, 230-pound Rodgers was expected to be a key contributor for the Illini this season. He averaged 6.5 points and 4.2 rebounds per game as a freshman in 2022-23.

In a statement, Illinois coach Brad Underwood said, "We are all disappointed for Ty. He has worked incredibly hard and was poised to have a breakout season. We know he will attack his rehab with the same determination and will be back stronger than ever next year."

The Illini are still expected to be a contender in the Big Ten this season. They return four starters from last year's team that finished 21-12 and reached the NCAA Tournament.
