Oklahoma hit by several tornadoes as severe weather continues
Multiple tornadoes have caused widespread damage across Oklahoma, leaving many homes and businesses destroyed.
The tornadoes touched down in several areas of the state, including Oklahoma City, Moore, and Norman. Emergency responders are on the scene helping those affected and assessing the damage.
No injuries have been reported at this time, but the National Weather Service is warning residents to remain indoors and be prepared for additional tornadoes.
The tornadoes are part of a severe weather system that has been moving across the southern United States for the past several days.
Here are some safety tips to follow during a tornado warning:
- Take shelter in a sturdy building, such as a basement or interior room on the lowest floor.
- Stay away from windows and doors.
- If you are outside, lie down in a ditch or other low-lying area and cover your head with your hands.
