Huskers Win Sixth Straight; Improve to 7-2

LINCOLN, Neb. (Dec. 20, 2022) –Alexis Markowski became Nebraska's career double-double leader, as the Huskers topped Omaha 84-51 on Tuesday night at Pinnacle Bank Arena. With her game-high 17 points and 10 rebounds, Markowski now has 41 career double-doubles, breaking the previous record of 40 set by Kelsey Griffin from 2007-11.

Nebraska, which never trailed, led by as many as 35 points in the second half and shot 50.6 percent (32-of-63) from the field in the game, while holding Omaha to just 32.1 percent (17-of-53) shooting. The Huskers also outrebounded Omaha 47-32 and had a 34-22 rebounding edge in the second half. Cokie Reed led Omaha with 16 points, while Kennedi Johnson added 12.

Markowski's record-breaking double-double was her second in as many games and her fourth of the season. The Huskers have now won six straight games and are 7-2 on the season. They will return to action on Saturday, Dec. 31, when they host No. 14 Michigan at Pinnacle Bank Arena.
