Blazers Handle Short-Handed Pelicans, 118-100
Anfernee Simons Leads Portland With 29 Points
New Orleans Drops Fourth Consecutive Game
The Portland Trail Blazers snapped a three-game losing streak with a 118-100 victory over the short-handed New Orleans Pelicans on Tuesday night at the Moda Center.
Anfernee Simons led the Blazers with 29 points, while Jerami Grant added 22 and Damian Lillard contributed 20. Zion Williamson, Brandon Ingram, and CJ McCollum were all out for the Pelicans due to injuries.
The Blazers led by just four points at halftime, but they pulled away in the third quarter, outscoring the Pelicans 33-19. Portland shot 54.4% from the field in the game, including 40.7% from three-point range.
The Pelicans were led by Trey Murphy III, who had 22 points. Jonas Valanciunas added 18 points and 14 rebounds, but it wasn't enough to overcome the Blazers' hot shooting.
The win snapped a four-game losing streak for the Blazers, who improved to 25-26 on the season. The Pelicans dropped their fourth straight game and fell to 25-25.
