Blazers Handle Shorthanded Pelicans, 118-100
Portland's Balanced Attack Too Much for New Orleans
CJ McCollum and Anfernee Simons Led the Way
The Portland Trail Blazers took advantage of a shorthanded New Orleans Pelicans team on Wednesday night, winning 118-100 at the Moda Center.
CJ McCollum led the Blazers with 25 points, while Anfernee Simons added 23 points. Josh Hart also chipped in with 20 points, and Jusuf Nurkic had 16 points and 13 rebounds.
The Pelicans were without Zion Williamson, Brandon Ingram, and Jonas Valanciunas due to injuries. The absences of those three players left the Pelicans with a thin lineup, and the Blazers took advantage.
The Blazers led by as many as 22 points in the first half, and they never looked back. The Pelicans made a run in the third quarter, but the Blazers quickly regained control of the game.
The win was the Blazers' third in a row, and it improved their record to 10-9. The Pelicans fell to 7-11 with the loss.
