White scores first career touchdown in front of family and friends
Tampa Bay Buccaneers rookie running back Rachaad White made his NFL debut and scored his first career touchdown in his hometown of Kansas City against the Chiefs
It was a moment that White had dreamed of since he was a child.
The former Arizona State standout grew up in Kansas City and attended Bishop Miege High School, where he was a three-star recruit.
White committed to ASU and became a key contributor for the Sun Devils, rushing for 1,008 yards and 15 touchdowns in three seasons.
He was drafted by the Buccaneers in the third round of the 2022 NFL Draft and has quickly become a valuable member of the team's offense.
In his first career game, White rushed for 22 yards on five carries and caught one pass for 10 yards.
His touchdown came in the second quarter on a 1-yard run.
White's parents and other family members were in attendance at Arrowhead Stadium to see him play.
"It was a dream come true," White said. "I've been dreaming of this moment since I was a little kid."
White's touchdown helped the Buccaneers to a 27-24 victory over the Chiefs.
It was a special moment for White and his family, and it's one that he will never forget.
