Assumption, meanwhile, is making its first state tournament appearance since 2018. The Knights finished third in the rugged Mississippi Athletic Conference this season and enter the state tournament with a 13-15 record. If Sergeant Bluff Luton wins its first-round match, it will face either No. 8 seed Iowa City West (19-13) or No. 9 seed Cedar Rapids Prairie (17-15) in the quarterfinals on Wednesday.
