Lazio Win Third Serie A Clash in a Row Against Nine-Man Cagliari
Lazio continued their impressive start to the Serie A season with a 3-0 win over Cagliari on Sunday.
The victory moved Lazio up to third in the table, level on points with second-placed AC Milan.
Ciro Immobile opened the scoring for Lazio in the 23rd minute, latching onto a through ball from Luis Alberto and firing past Cagliari goalkeeper Alessio Cragno.
Sergej Milinkovic-Savic doubled Lazio's lead in the 64th minute, with a fine strike from outside the area.
Cagliari's task was made even more difficult when they had two players sent off in quick succession.
Marko Rog was shown a red card for a foul on Danilo Cataldi in the 68th minute, and Alberto Grassi was sent off for a second yellow card just three minutes later.
Lazio took full advantage of their numerical advantage, with Pedro adding a third goal in the 83rd minute.
The win was Lazio's third in a row in Serie A, and they will be looking to continue their good form when they face Udinese next weekend.
Cagliari, on the other hand, have now lost their last three matches and are in danger of being dragged into a relegation battle.
They will need to improve their form quickly if they want to avoid a repeat of last season, when they only escaped relegation on the final day of the season.
