Early Life and Career

Michael Schumacher was born on January 3, 1969, in Hürth, West Germany. He began karting at the age of four and won his first karting championship at the age of six. In 1988, he won the German Formula 3 championship and made his Formula 1 debut in 1991 with the Jordan team.

Schumacher joined the Benetton team in 1991 and won his first Formula 1 race at the 1992 Belgian Grand Prix. He won the Formula 1 World Drivers' Championship in 1994 and 1995 with Benetton.

Ferrari Years

In 1996, Schumacher joined the Ferrari team and won the Formula 1 World Drivers' Championship five times in a row from 2000 to 2004. He also won the Formula 1 Constructors' Championship with Ferrari in 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002, and 2004.

Schumacher retired from Formula 1 at the end of the 2006 season, but he returned to the sport in 2010 with the Mercedes team. He retired for good at the end of the 2012 season.

Legacy

Michael Schumacher is widely regarded as one of the greatest Formula 1 drivers of all time. He holds the records for the most Formula 1 World Drivers' Championships (7), the most Formula 1 race wins (91), and the most Formula 1 podium finishes (155).

Schumacher is also known for his aggressive driving style and his ability to win races from behind. He was also a very successful businessman and owned several companies, including a clothing line and a karting track.

Personal Life

Michael Schumacher is married to Corinna Betsch and they have two children, Gina-Maria and Mick. Schumacher is a practicing Catholic and is fluent in German, Italian, English, and French.

In 2013, Schumacher suffered a severe head injury in a skiing accident and was placed in a medically induced coma. He was released from the hospital in 2014 and is now recovering at home.
