Nets Notebook: Noah Clowney ‘bruised’ and ‘sore’, expected to return from hip injury soon
Brooklyn Nets forward Noah Clowney is expected to return to the lineup soon after missing the team’s last two games with a hip injury.
Clowney was injured in the Nets’ win over the Indiana Pacers on Wednesday and did not play in the team’s next two games against the Washington Wizards and Chicago Bulls.
The Nets have not provided a timetable for Clowney’s return, but coach Steve Nash said on Sunday that the forward is “bruised” and “sore” but is expected to return soon.
“He’s still a little bit sore,” Nash said. “He’s got some bruising. We’re just trying to get the swelling down and get him back out there as soon as possible.”
Clowney is averaging 9.6 points and 5.6 rebounds per game this season, and his return would be a boost to the Nets, who are currently 2-2 without him.
The Nets will play the Milwaukee Bucks on Monday and the Cleveland Cavaliers on Wednesday before hosting the Los Angeles Lakers on Friday.
If Clowney is not able to return for the Nets’ game against the Bucks, he could potentially return against the Cavaliers or Lakers.
