Washington State Battles Portland State at Beasley Coliseum in Season Opener
Cougars Look to Start Season Strong Against Vikings
Washington State University’s men’s basketball team will open its 2022-23 season on Monday, November 7th, against Portland State University at Beasley Coliseum.
The Cougars are coming off a disappointing 11-19 season, but they have a lot of optimism heading into this year. Washington State returns four starters from last year’s team, including leading scorer TJ Bamba. They also added several key pieces in the offseason, including transfers Jabe Mullins and DJ Rodman.Portland State is coming off a 15-12 season, and they return their top three scorers from last year. The Vikings are led by senior guard Cameron Forte, who averaged 16.2 points per game last season.
The game will be a good early test for both teams. Washington State will be looking to start the season strong, while Portland State will be looking to prove that they are a team to be reckoned with.
The game will be televised on ESPN+ and will tip off at 7:00 pm PT.
